Read article as a class

Mark the text.  Put your name on the top right hand corner of the article.
1. Number the paragraphs
2. Underline important phrases or sentences that explain the main point of each paragraph.  Underline at least one sentence or phrase in each paragraph.
3. Circle any words that you do not know or that do not make sense to you.
4. On your paper with the Quick write paragraph write a one sentence summary in your own words about the key point of each paragraph.  This sentence should be different than the one that you underlined originally.
5.  Explain in one paragraph or more what you learned about arranged marriages that you did not know before.  How does this information make you feel?  How do you feel about your options for marriage in the future?  

To receive full credit for this "Arranged Marriage" Assignment please turn in the following:
1. Your Quick write and your one sentence summary in your own words for each paragraph on the same paper. Then one paragraph about what you learned about arranged marriages.
2. Your copy of the article with each paragraph numbered, each paragraph with at least one key sentence or phrase underlined, and each paragraph with at least one unknown word circled.
3. Staple the two papers together with your Quick write paper on the top and turn in for full credit.
