The Club SMHS CE’ENI (Colectivo Educativo Estudiantil de Naciones Indigenas), is hosting an event on Wednesday, April 27th, from 6:30pm-9:00pm at SMHS. The event is open to the entire community, but I want to make a special invitation to SAAS students. 


We are bringing poet/songwriter/hip-hop artist, Mare Advertencia Lirika, to Santa Maria to meet our city youth. Mare will be visiting us all the way from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is of indigenous decent (Zapotec) and I believe many of our students will not only relate to her background, but be inspired by her incredible talent and journey to escape and question her surroundings through poetry and writing.
